Dear Alumnus of Alagappa Schools,

It is with great pleasure that we announce our intention to form an Alumni Association of Alagappa School students. The strong bond among the students who shared common experience during their sojourn, in our school needs to be networked, if they are to stay connected to each other, overcoming physical boundaries. A strong desire of all students to stay in touch with all others and a sense of commitment on our part to keep those ties alive have propelled us to embark on this endeavor. Soaked in maternal affection and loving care of our correspondent Dr. Mrs. Umayal Ramanathan, our cherished school has passed many milestones of achievements. Under the auspices of Mr. R. Vairavan, our trustee who has redefined the service to the cause of Education with emphasis towards harnessing technology to the same, the path of achieving new levels of success has never been clearer. He has definite plans for the future and much has been accomplished to date regarding progress of our institution including massive infrastructural developments, oriented towards community development. With a view to provide an opportunity to establish good relations among the alumni and with the products of our institution, this proposal to form the Alumni Association has been finalized.

The main objects of the Association will be the following

• To rededicate ourselves in promoting and supporting our Institution by connecting students with each other and to the school leading to life long partnerships.

• To present awards in honor of alumni who have distinguished themselves in their chosen career.

• To recognize and felicitate alumni who have earned a place for themselves with their voluntary contribution in the form of service to the community.

• To form a functional network of alumni with an up to date directory.

• To seek support from its alumni for ongoing and special needs in order to maintain the value, our institution stands for and advance the cause of quality education.

• To organize periodical meetings / get together parties to enhance interaction and exchange notes.

• To explore ways and means to promote the interest and to increase the usefulness of the alumni by raising the levels of acquaintance and interaction among members.

One among the number of major plans on the anvil to upgrade our school is the proposal to construct an administrative block. As this would require considerable resources, we appeal to the generosity of our alumni and to seize this opportunity to be of service to your school, which played a crucial role in your life. We urge you to be as generous as possible and prove that you hold our institution dear to your heart and in high esteem. We appeal to alumni who have benefited by the benevolence of our institution to reciprocate with your overwhelming response in any form for this project, to help us and to help ourselves. Alagappa School, Chennai awaits your response in all eagerness. In true educational service as ever.
